Apapa District is one of the administrative units of the General Council of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, created on 6th of July 1996 by the constitution and bye law of the General Council. Assemblies of God Nigeria, is a Christian Organisation with the Corporate Affairs Commission with registration No. CAC/IT/349.
The Headquarters is at Plot R8 Ozubulu Independence Layout Enugu State. The church has a membership of over three million spread out in all the thirty-six states of Nigeria, Organized in more than one hundred (100) administrative units know as Districts of which Apapa Districts is one. She has a University, Several primary and secondary schools, Bible colleges, printing press and Bookshops.
Apapa District includes all churches eighty six (86) churches of the Assemblies of God, covering Ajeromi Ifelodun, Apapa GRA, Amuwo Odofin. Surulere and Lagos Mainlan Local Government Areas of Lagos State and a Mission in Ilaje Esedo in Ondo State.
The Administration of the District is carried out by a body of seven(7) elected ordained ministers know as the presbytery, made up of the District Superintendent, who is the Chairman, Assistant District Superintendent, the District Secretary, the District Treasurer and three members of the presbytery. The presbytery is empowered to exercise executive authority in all administrative and financial matters in their constituency under the oversight of the Executive Committee.
